Wanting More Money Isn't Selfish
Content
What if you could have more money and feel good about it? Somehow you came to the conclusion that wanting more money is selfish. Someone in your life may have said to you that if you have more than you need, you should give the rest away. They may have even said that wanting more money is selfish. Another possibility is that in order to make yourself feel better for not having more, you’ve told yourself that wanting more money is selfish. You’re not alone in thinking that wanting more money is selfish.
I had stories around money too! I didn’t have more money, so to feel better, I had stories to support why I couldn’t have more. When I did have extra money, I had a tendency of getting rid of it rather quickly, whether it was giving it away or just spending it. Here are a few stories that I had so that I wouldn’t feel selfish about wanting more:
- I was supposed to be grateful for what I had, so wanting more was selfish of me.
- If I couldn’t be responsible with money, it was selfish to want more.
- I didn’t have more, so I couldn’t give money away, which actually made me feel selfish.
For a long time it just felt safer for me to tell stories of why wanting more money was selfish. I spent years trying to figure out where I went wrong with money. I thought if I could figure out where I went wrong, I could fix it.
I learned about limiting beliefs on my journey of trying to figure out where I went wrong with money. I tried to figure out who may have taught me the beliefs that I had about money. I, like most people, learned my money story from my parents. The people I was around most throughout my young life.
Some of the stories I thought were true because I didn’t question them. I didn’t realize they might not be true because I never really thought about asking myself the question, is this true for me?
My journey led me to Manifest $10K, where I learned that I could change those limiting beliefs or stories about money. It wasn’t an easy journey to get there, but when I did, it opened up the possibility that I could feel better about wanting and having more money.
Is it possible to want and have more money in your life and not feel selfish? YES, it is! Now that I have more money and feel good about it, I get to enjoy life so much more. I get to buy things for myself that make me happy. I get to donate to charities that are important to me. I get to do things for myself and others consistently and it just feels so good. I am living a new money story, one where I no longer feel selfish for wanting more.
Do you want to feel good about having more money in your life? I invite you to listen to my journey, where I was when I started Manifest $10K and how I opened up to all the possibilities of having more money in my life. You can listen here in Manifesting Success Stories - Kimberly
