Manifesting Myth-If It's Hard, Don't Do It

Very often in the law of attraction world, you’ll hear, “If it’s not easy, don’t do it," or "If it's hard, don't do it."
As a coach, I’ve heard this used more than once as a way for someone to justify not doing a “hard” assignment.
I believe in doing things that are easy outside of what is required for growth. If plants didn’t push through their seed there would be no more plants. I see growing in a similar way. Sometimes it’s hard because we are breaking open our own seed in order to get to the sun.
Have you ever quit or skipped an assingment in a program, an exercise your coach assigned you or a part of a workshop because it was hard? Or it didn’t feel easy?
Growth can be fun and exciting, especially in the beginning of a new program, or start of a book, or when you take a weekend workshop. And when you get past the beginning, it’s not always easy. Just last week I coached some Enchanted Life U students to be honest with some friends about a trip that they no longer wanted to take.
Having a hard conversation and being honest isn’t going to be easy for them. However, it’s a very necessary step in their growth journey. It’s about being true to themselves and honoring what feels good to them. It’s about standing in their power and being okay if someone gets upset. It’s going to be hard for them and that is okay.
There is nothing easy about being honest and cancelling a trip like this the first time. Very often it’s hard until the 10th or 20th time you do it. And in doing this hard thing, they are going to grow in a big way. What’s on the other side for them is big.
In this week’s episode of Manifesting Success Stories (#327) Mia talks about how the assignments at Enchanted Life U that were the toughest for her led to the biggest growth. This happens so often, even to myself. When I come up to an assignment that feels hard, or simply doesn’t feel easy, I know on the other side is big growth. “Hard” assignments often don’t look like “hard” assignments. What makes them hard is the dam they are breaking apart inside you to allow things to flow.
If you’re really committed to your growth, complete your assignments, do the exercises your coach assigns you and participate in all the activities at the workshops, even if they are not easy.
