There are so many things out there that tell you what to charge, and why to charge. They can make you feel bad for charging too little. You can feel bad because they say to charge way more than feels good. So what is the sweet spot that helps you attract clients to invest in your services?
Here are four simple steps for identifying what to charge:
- Don’t use the word charge. It probably doesn’t feel good. Shift to, “What is the investment for someone to work with me.”
- Ask yourself the question, “What is the investment for someone to work with me?”
- Trust the answer. If the answer comes from you it’s much more powerful than whatever anyone else says.
- Step into it.The answer might not feel great at first. That’s okay. Don’t judge it or question or try to figure out something different. Simply step into the answer you receive from yourself. That means put it on your website. Start saying it out loud. Send out an email notice of the investment.
If and when you’re inspired to increase the investment in the future, do so.
