What to do when you’re running out of time to manifest
Content
Say you’re moving to a new city and you need a new car before you start the move. Your new job starts in 7 days, so you have to get there before then. But your old car just died and needs to be replaced.
Situations like these do require time sensitive things. You have to arrange to get your old car taken care of, go to the dealership, shop for a new car, you need to get your car insurance up to date, you have to get the paperwork all signed at the dealership, and more still after that.
So you are starting to worry that it is even possible to get all of these things taken care of with enough time for you to be at your new job in a new city.
In moments like these, you can feel scared and worried. You might spend a lot of time thinking about how to fix the situation - where to find a car, is this too short notice to get a moving company, that wouldn’t matter because you need to have a car for your commute to work on the first day.
I’ve had this happen too.
I needed to move, and I had no furniture to speak of. I didn’t have a bed, or night stands, or a dresser, or anything. There was pretty short notice, so I didn't have enough time to save extra money for these things, or pick up another job to supplement while I saved for a few weeks.
In the past, I would have spiraled into doubt, worry, stress, and anxiety. I probably would’ve just shut down completely and had a week spent in bed trying to forget. Then, I would’ve spent every waking moment thinking about where to get all of these things. I would’ve asked everyone I came across for help or hand-me-downs.
But this time was different.
This time I decided to trust that the things I needed would show up. Instead of scrolling social media marketplaces, I would turn my attention to trusting that it would all work out.
Time was running out, I only had 24 hours before moving. My bags were packed, the dog was ready to go, still no furniture, and still I continued to choose to trust.
The morning of the move, my alarm went off at 7:30am, and without thinking, I turned off my alarm and opened up Marketplace and found an entire set of matching bedroom furniture in good condition, available for $50. The owner and I discussed it briefly, and she said she’d be happy to sell it to me. I had the new furniture set up and put together in my new bedroom by 3:00pm that afternoon.
I had only a few days to acquire bedroom furniture, and rather than sliding into worry and anxiety, I chose to trust. That led to the furniture showing up an hour before I had to move.
Things can show up in the most unexpected ways, and at the last minute. So, if you need a car in 7 days, furniture or job or anything else really, take a deep breath and then ask yourself, “What if it just shows up in time?” “What if I knew I would be taken care of?” The possibility that things could show up in time is what allowed me to sit back and allow it to happen.
