How to Make the Law of Attraction Work- Call Yourself Out
Content
Do you hear yourself say things in your head that you don’t want to be true or that you don’t want more of?
Do you start with a story and keep telling it deeper and deeper until you feel like crap?
If you do, stop. It’s not helping you manifest what you want.
I know, sometimes it’s not that easy. You know you shouldn’t be talking like that inside your head, you want to be more positive, the thoughts just get away from you.
That was happening to Paulie. If something didn’t go perfectly or it seemed like something wasn’t working out she'd start talking negatively inside her head. Then half way through her day, she’d be feeling terrible. Then she’d be trying to figure out how to make herself feel better. She came to a coaching call and asked what stories she should be telling to negate all the crappy ones.
To her surprise, I told her to stop trying to make it better and start calling out the crappy, in her case sh***y stories she was telling. Anytime she told herself a story that didn’t feel good, I told her to say, “That’s a sh***y story.”
Paulie did this for a few months, and the stories slowed down. Allowing yourself to say a bunch of crappy stories and then trying to say a bunch of nice stories to combat them is like filling a bucket with a leak. The bucket never fills up and you’ll never feel good. You’ll also have less success getting the law of attraction to work for you. Because you’re basically manifesting back to zero. Like the bucket never fills, there isn’t enough good stuff to attract more good stuff, which is how the law of attraction works.
This week try calling yourself on your stories. No fixing, upgrading or changing. Just call them out for what they are. Feel free to use crappy or the full version. The most important thing is to stop the negative stories you are telling.
You might be wondering, “But don’t I have to say positive things to get the law of attraction to work?” Eventually, yes. For now, focus on stopping the stuff you don’t want, so you’re not creating more of it.
Keep me posted on your progress.
